🦃 Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

Yama here with an important safety message about our favourite birb (dog speak for bird) related holiday!

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and a lot of delicious food will be ‘flying’ around the house this weekend (pun intended). We wanted to share examples of things that are safe for your mutt to eat and some that are not.

Not for Mutts: -Cooked bones, especially from poultry. -Onions or garlic. -Sugar, sweeteners, chocolate, marshmallows, or xylitol <—this is deadly. -Refined carbs - buns, pie crusts, or buttery potatoes. -Pickles or any salty/cured foods. -Spicy foods.

Go for Mutts: -Turkey meat, cooked or raw (depending on their regular diet) —even a bit of tofurkey is okay! -Non-seasoned broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, brussel sprouts, and sweet potatoes. -Cooked or raw (unseasoned) apples, carrots, blueberries, and pears.

I suggest only giving small amounts of delicious treats. If your dog eats raw, go ahead and give them raw food! If your pup eats kibble or canned, stick to cooked delicacies this Thanksgiving weekend!
